Bible Verses
I have found helpful
1. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God.
Every person who has ever lived has done things they shouldn't and because of
this, cannot be in the presence of a God who is holy and without sin.
2. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Death (or separation from God) is our "wages" for all our wrongdoing.
Eternal life is a free gift offered to us through what Jesus Christ did for us.
3. John 3: 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and
only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God gave His Son Jesus so that through His death we could have life
eternally, forever.
4. John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the
life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Jesus is the way to have that relationship with our heavenly Father, our
Creator.
5. 2 Corinthians 5:21 God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us,
so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
Jesus took upon Himself the sins of all when He was on the cross and paid the
penalty for them for us, so that in like manner we could take upon
ourselves His righteousness. Wow!!
6. Romans 10:9-10 ...If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is
Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. For it is with the heart that you believe, and it is with the mouth
that you confess and are saved.
When God raised Jesus from the dead, He showed that He accepted Jesus'
death on the cross as payment for our sins. To take care of the "sin
problem" and establish the relationship with God which He designed you to have,
you must believe in the Lord Jesus, accept what He did for you, and believe that
God raised Him from the dead. Then you must "confess" this (tell others
that you believe in Him).
7. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and
will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
You must confess your sins to Him and ask Him to forgive you. Then you
must repent, that is, be sorry for them and not do them any more.
8. John 1:12-13 Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed
in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, children born not of
natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but of God.
When you believe in Jesus and receive Him as Savior and Lord, you are "born
again," you become God's child, and He adopts you into His family.
9. 1 John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the
name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
God desires that we know, not just hope, that we have eternal life.
When you come to Him His way, you can know for sure that you are His.
10. Hebrews 13:5b ...God has said, "Never will I leave you; never
will I forsake you."
Once you are God's child, He promises that He will never leave you nor forsake
you. He will always be only a prayer away!
